Urgent Care Centers

According to the  2002-2005 Contract, DFT members who go to a hospital emergency room for non-emergencies are to be charged a $50 co-pay per visit. This is intended to prevent the costly practice of using Emergency Room services for conditions treatable at a doctor's office or  Urgent Care Center. Members can appeal the co-pay if they believe their condition warranted emergency treatment.

Health Alliance Plan (HAP)  has a network of Urgent Care Centers for HAP members requiring prompt medical attention for  serious, but not life-threatening, conditions such as sprained ankles or minor wounds requiring stitches. Click Here  1/04/07
